The Spanish Language – It’s Origins and Growth
July 3rd, 2009    Subscribe To Our FeedLinguists consider the northern portion of the Iberia peninsula as being the territory which gave birth to the Spanish language, somewhere between today’s Burgos and La Rioja. From that point forward, the peninsula was under the influences of the Roman Empire at the time, so Latin language was often used for trade and marketing in the area. By acquiring the new language and changing it to fit their specific characteristics, the locals spread this particular language all over today’s Spain territory, the new born language becoming shortly an official language and the primary language used in trades.
Being a basic Latin language, Spanish is a lot like other sister languages as Italian, French, Portuguese among others. But locals and nomads managed to change the vocabulary fluctuations in such a way that it makes Spanish quite unique compared to its sisters. From this point forward we can truly begin speaking of the Spanish language which will shortly become one of the most spreaded and spoken languages in history.
Spain was a great naval power during colonization, and it’s enormous fleet allowed it to properly conduct various commercial plans. This helped a lot in spreading the language in the new world, because an impressive number of explorers, gold diggers , colonists or simple adventurers coming from Spain rushed toward the West, to the newly found lands. The direct effect of this massive colonization movement can still be seen today, when the majority of countries in South and Central America as well as those in the Caribbean have Spanish as an official language, even if it has many variations and numerous dialects over these countries.
Learning Spanish even became a job requirement in some English speaking countries thus, the quest to learn modern spanish. If you didn’t get the change to study Spanish in school or in another well organized educational center, you can take the whole thing into your own hands and try to learn by yourself. There are many options here like buying books, exercise notebooks or Spanish courses at variable prices and you can find something to fit your taste regardless of your budget, or taking some free online course like learn to speak spanish, but their quality can vary from website to website(you can try of course if they are free).

The Easiest Languages for English Speakers
July 3rd, 2009    Subscribe To Our FeedRecently, many newspapers present the stories and claims of numerous people that state they can learn any new language like spanish lesson in just a couple of months, regardless of the differences. While the fact that they can perfect a language in just a few months seems exaggerated, the real shocking issue is that they also claimed that they can also learn two or more languages at the same time. So, according to them, they could be learning Arab and Russian at the same time. Learning a language that is very un-similar to your native language, like languages that even have a different set of letters and symbols, are quite hard to learn.
Languages that are spoken in Asia, Russia and African countries are the hardest languages on earth. Then, which are the languages that are easiest to learn? Here are the top three languages:
- The easiest language for people who are native in English is german. Because the two languages have similar roots, lots of words sound and are written the same way. The only problem with German is that they use a weird way of linking words when they are speaking. This way we can write down the biggest words in the world, because all nouns and adjectives used to define or characterize a certain main noun are truncated and linked into one big word. A big word is Hoechsgeschwindigkeitsbegrenzung witch means speed limit, but this is not the longest word. Unfortunately words are not simply linked, but truncated then united.
- The French language is a language easily learnt by people all over the world. French and English languages have influenced each other over the years. Because the wars between France and Great Britain, the two languages present many common influences. Although English has an Anglo-Saxon background and French is a Latin language, the both present many similarities.
- The Spanish language is not very similar to English, but it is a language that is easy to learn as French and because it is an international language it offers many exposure opportunities like the net that offers learn spanish fast. For American learners, learning Spanish is at hand because it’s impossible not to have acquaintances that speak this language and that can have a conversation in Spanish with you once in a while.

Maximize Your Time While Learning a Language
July 1st, 2009    Subscribe To Our FeedThere’s not much to say when you see a big ad in the paper saying: Learn Japanese in one week, expect for smiling. We all know that learning a language like rocket spanish review is something that takes time and that everyone wants to reduce that time as much as possible. But reduce it to one week? Regardless of my opinion, if you are looking for methods that reduce the learning time of a new language to a week or two, you’d better stop looking because there are no such methods, not for normal people that don’t suffer from any diseases (like autism, because autisms present a bigger learning capacity of words and numbers). The best thing to do is to try and plan your time in a way that you can gradually learn the language.
Learning a language online is a really good option. That doesn’t mean that a class lesson can not teach you as much as online lessons, but in that case you have to actually go there and be on time. People that have to work, that have families or other things to do find going to these classes pretty impossible. If we are learning online like rocket spanish premium interactive audio course , we have nothing to worry about. Online classes offer infinite flexibility and we can simply continue yesterday’s lesson tomorrow.
You should try to divide your learning session in a couple of small parts over a longer period of time because it’s better to learn for one hour each day for 5 months than to learn 6 hours a day for one. People who learn slowly will actually learn better and easier. You must not forget about this, failing to do so will return unfortunate results.
Learning and having fun at the same time is a real treat. Anything that is fun can be learnt in 10 minutes, like word puzzles. If you don’t have a lot of free time and you don’t feel like starting an online course just yet, those 10 minutes of play during your lunch break will do all the difference. Of course, you will learn the language in a longer time, but the learning process will be easier.

Language Processing in Children
June 29th, 2009    Subscribe To Our FeedAround three, children begin to better understand hidden meaning of words and start to develop an exceptional vocabulary. A three year old is curious and open to new things, so trying to teach him a new language like how to learn spanish is a wise decision. This is the moment when a new language should be introduced. If you start addressing him in the foreign language, he will understand meanings better. The child might take long before he actually speaks any of the new words he hears because he will first assimilate them.
Trying to teach a child a language that is too similar to the one he knows can be confusing. This basically means that children learn better two very different languages than two languages that are quite similar. At three, no child is 100% sure of all native language words he hears from adults, so trying to teach then words from another language that are too similar to some he hears every day might be very confusing. If you want them to understand the difference between two languages, you will have to choose two very different languages. The new language has to be as different as possible. For example, if your child is born in the USA and speaks English, then teaching him a Latin language like megavocab software learning game or French is one of the best choices.
Don’t worry if the child says words form the foreign language in a funny way, the main responsible is the larynx, that is accustomed to reproduce sounds from the native language. In time, as he starts to speak better his native language, he will perfect the second language pronunciation also. In the beginning, the child will not understand the different language definition and will simply learn two different meanings for the same object. Maybe a few sentences will be made using words from both languages. Instead of giving the child definitions of an object in both languages, we can simply say the name in the foreign language and then point to the object.
Try to make him remember what he has learnt. A good idea is to listen to music in that language or to watch cartoon dubbed in that language, because early learning much be solicited constantly. Without practice, the child will not remember the new words. Reading in the foreign language must not be forced. You should wait for the child to learn how to properly read in his native language before trying to make him read in a different language.
