Ever woke up and thought to yourself, I want to speak Spanish? Because of my weird dream the night before, I woke up wanting to learn Spanish. I went to Spain and no one could understand my English. I couldn’t ask anyone for directions home because I only knew English! I think I called his dad a donkey. Anyways, the point of a the dream was that it made me want to learn to speak Spanish. So I did some research, how hard is it to learn a new language?

First, the older a person is, the harder it is. Whenever you are young, your brain activity is very high. Children can learn languages like no one’s business, because they have very high brain activity. In comparison to someone in their 20’s like me, a 60 year old would have a hard time learning a new language. So what can someone like me do? Instead of hiring a tutor or getting into classes, let’s explore other options. You’ll find that most programs are junk. Try picking up a Spanish to English dictionary and read that, good luck. And audio lessons are good, if you want to fall asleep with a headset on. I found that the best way to learn a language is to hit all 3 senses, audio, video and interaction. This way you can remember the lessons better, and heck, they are more fun. You can also play games on some of these programs, this definitely helps.

One of the best programs on the market today in my opinion is Rocket Spanish by Mauricio Evlampieff. You are able to access the lessons anywhere on a computer. The lessons are easy to follow and feature a Spanish native speaking. This way you get proper dialect and current terms, instead of old words that they don’t use anymore. Anyways, before you go, why not take a second and read the Rocket Spanish review. Good luck in your process of learning how to speak Spanish my friend!
